Hello all,
I own a 2002 Silverado 1500 4.3V6 and experiencing some weird problems...when i try to start it cranks but no start...backfires through intake/ throttle body. I have changed spark plug wires, plugs, and battery going to check out the dist. this morning to see if its it. I already scanned as well no trouble codes whatsoever... and one day before both my headlights went out at the exact same time..replaced them and 8 hours later my truck wont start at all.

timing problem is the only thing i can think of with no codes. No running problems at all before these few probs.

i actually think i may have figured it out...belt may have jumped timing

 

If that isn't it check to see if you have spark, and fuel. If you have both have your fuel pressure tested. The newer cars are more sensitive to fuel pressure. If the pump starts to wear out and loses some pressure they won't start.

 

Well I found out there was recall on distributor. So i was wrong . Thank you for the tip. It didnt cost me anything but I got my injectors flushed and cleaned. No more problems.
