I want to swap my stock GU4 axle on a 1998 Cheverolet C1500 4x2 with a 3:73 Axle. My truck has a Vortec 6cyl and it lacks towing power. What will I have to do to get the Speedometer/ABS to be calibrated. Any idea on cost to do this calibration? Lots of junk trucks around here that I can find a rear end off of. Anyone know the year span and models of vehicles I can find an axle off of that will fit? Also is the rear end on a 4x4 the same as a 4x2 if it is a 10 bolt? IS there any parts I can get off the downer vehicle that will make the swap easier if I'm getting parts for free. Thanks guys.
