Default Help asap!

i have a 1998 chevy 1500 4x4 with a 5.7 liter in it.it through a code the other day and i put a code reader on it and it said it was the shift solenoid.so i bout the solenoid and dropped the pan and i got the old solenoid out and the new one was the wrong one and still cant find the right one.Does anybody know what solenoid it is or what transmission came in those trucks.please help

these trucks typically came with the 4l60e. very few 1500's had the bigger 4l80e. the number of pan bolts will tell ya. as for the shift solenoids, you have two. 1-2 shift and the 3-4 shift. both are the same exact ones, side by side. if the solenoid you pulled out isn't the same exact one as another just about next to it, then it is not the shift solenoid you pulled. it's probably the TCC, torque converter lockup solenoid, that you yanked out.
