Question Help with power steering PLEASE.

I have a 97 chevy z 71 4x4 truck. I cant seem to get my power steering to stop leaking or whining awful. I have replaced the pump twice, and replaced my gear box. Nothing I do is working, it still whines really bad, and leaks. It's full of power steering fluid and I know it's power steering, because that's the fluid that I see on the ground. Any ideas??

Did you check the hoses for cracks, especially at the connectors?

I have the same truck and I have replaced everything as you have and it still leaks.

I do not have the sound though. Does it whine only when you turn the wheel, or does it whine all the time? If the former, it may be the follower arm that is bolted to the passenger side of the frame.

The leaks are from the o-ring fittings. These are extremely difficult to put back together properly. You have to use lots of lube and do it very smoothly (insert joke here). If you don't, then the orings will be cut and leak badly.

Even then, mine still leaks a little.
