Hi, I just put a 6" suspension lift by rough country and 35x12.50s on about a week ago. I had the truck aligned a couple of days after and just greased all the nipples i could find up front. My problem is when i turn the wheel at low speed, e.g. parking lots or turning into my driveway, i hear a popping/creaking noise coming from up front. I had my wife turn the wheel while I laid under it and it seemed to be coming from the steering box pitman arm. It could also be coming from the tie rod end. Did I use the wrong grease? It started happening the same day I got the alignment and greased it. (happened earlier in the day of the alignment so its not something they did). Any body had this issue or know whats the probable cause of the noise? Thanks guys

Did the kit come with a new pitman arm with more drop to it? It sounds like a ball joint binding due to the increased angle on the joint. My 95 kit was different but it came with a steering drop bracket.

 

I have an 04 with a 6" lift (RCD) It didn't come with a drop for the pitman. I run 315's and know I had to trim plastic. when turning the wheel all the way it would rub below the bumper. (that could be the sound) Also with 60K miles around 30k with the lift I had to replace the pitman arm and idler arm. Both were shot and made for a stiffer drive once replaced. Jack up the front of the truck and see if there is any play in the tires. IE move them with your hands or a pry bar against the ground and see if they move back and forth. If there is movement it could be your idler or pitman arm or tierod. My boots on my tierods are shot but still are stiff. They get replaced next. I hope you have a some type of warranty with the alighnment. I have gone back several times to keep mine alighned with the lift.
