Thumbs up

Bought a 79 Olds Regency ( Big 4 door car) back in 79 brand new.
It got 22 hwy. miles.

( A Caddy is the same car with different badge, Olds had more toys on it though )

Today wife is driving a 2007 Tahoe that gets 14.3 mpg.
Is this progress?

The Olds is the same 350 cu. in. engine Chevy uses.
It had 250K miles on it when sold to a nephew.
Still ran like a champ, we just got tired of the same ole car.

I feel like the baby of the bunch.

130K on my 04 -2500- 6.0L-4L80E.

Swapped out the 410 gears with 342s, for

lower revs, and higher gas mileage, and it's been a

great traveler. No other engine or tranny work, though,

aside from the gears, it's all original...

Default 2000 1500 lt 5.3

422,000 miles and going strong. Transmission rebuilt at 355,00. No work on engine. My wife keeps asking when I am getting a new one. My answer is: when I have a problem with this one.

I know a guy who's got a favorite axe.

He'll say: That's a great axe! It's had seven handles and two heads!

The point being that a problem can also be an opportunity for

an upgrade...

My 2007 chevy 1500HD has 192,000 kms, my 1985 GMC 4X4 has 351,000 kms, and my mom ran her 1978 suburban 3/4 ton 2wd to over 400,000km before the body rusted out(she bought it new in 1978), we then put the engine into my dads 1972 GMC 4X4 and ran it another 80,000 km and the only thing done to the engine was oil changes and sparkplugs and wires. The 350 is the best built engine running out there in my opinion

my 97 silverado has 328000 on it and still running strong just got an 08 silverado crew cab Z71 and passed my 97 to my 17 year old son!!! i call chevrolet at 300000 and they offered me a free oil change! please i took it as an insult never did get that free oil change guess they dont want some good publicity for their product! the rep i talked to told me that that is not uncommon and they did offer any kind of recognition for mileage on there products! can anyone explain this to me i see commercials all the time from other manufacturers with costumer and the longevity of there vehicles ! my 2 cents
