That's almost like getting paid to drive a Chevy.
I'm brand new to the forum, but had to join and share my baby with all of you! I have a 2000 2wd 1500 ex cab LT(SILVIA), getting ready to roll 312k tomorrow. I bought the truck in 2004 with 125k on it, from my dad who ordered it new in 99. the only thing I have ever done to SILVIA is rebuild the trans(bumped up pressure and added cooler), and put in a 4:10 posi rearend(shucked the original one doing a smoke show). I will try to add some pics of her in her hay day, she now is my work truck/daily driver. I could go on for days about SILVIA and her capabilities! I haven't even ever changed the plugs in her powerplant 5.3, the only thing that i do is change the mobil 1 synthetic every 15k miles. SILVIA doesn't even burn a drop of oil, and let me tell you she hasn't had an easy life! I don't baby her at all, if I can post a video of her I will......she still lays monster burnies, pingin the rev limiter over and over again. I've smoked new dodge hemi trucks(my buddies) in her, and even a 5.0 mustang! Her body isn't very nice anymore, but when it comes to her motor..........she's the sweetest thing around! I love the 5.3 so much, I just purchased a wrecked 2001 silverado to do a full drivetrain swap into my 1952 chevy rat!!! I will be a die hard chevy fan until the day I die because of SILVIA! So to all the posts on here that I have read asking "should I worry about buying a 2002 silverado with 160k on it", this post should answer your questions! "Like a rock" is an understatement if you ask me, thank you chevy!!!!!!!
Just rolled over 204,000 miles on my 98 Z71. Pulled a trailer for most of its life to. My friend has a truck EXACTLY like it down to the color and tires. He hit 250,000 two weeks ago. Both trucks with original motors and trannys
I have a 1995 4x4 Suburban with 439,000 miles on it. Still all original. The only thing I've done is brakes, a power steering pump, alternator and regular oil changes. It's been with me through 4 moves, 3 dogs, 2 border crossings and 1 divorce.
