Default lack of power

i just purchased a 2012 Silverado LTZ with less than 30k miles. It has the 5.3 liter flex fuel engine. While I do love the truck, it does seem to be down on power somewhat. Is this due to it being flex fuel? I am not that familiar with this engine. I am guessing that a tuner, cold air kit and good exhaust might wake this engine up. Any suggestions or am I missing something?

Compared to my Dads '09 Silverado, it seems to be a bit less responsive.

It's just the weak dealer tunin and you probably have a 6 speed and he has the 4 speed. They put lower gears in the 4 speed which helps when you go stop light to stop light. You have higher gears more than likely. A good tune will wake it up big time though

Makes sense. I do have the 6 speed shiftable automatic. Why they made that option I have no idea. But I am looking for a good tuner. Any suggestions? Banks? Bullydog? Hypertech??

None of the above. Blackbear performance, gowheatley.com or a reputable custom tuner around your area
