Default Late model Silverado owners- opinions

I came to this forum to get info on the full size GM trucks as I am in the market for one. I have always wanted to buy a brand new Silverado/Sierra and came close in '08 but gas jumped to over $4 a gal and ended up with a '08 Accord instead. Although it was a very nice car it wasn't me, I sold it Monday and am going to get what I wanted but came across this thread today...

And now I am somewhat worried

What is everyones OVERALL opinion on their Silverado/Sierra '07-12 ONLY

Thanks

I have a 2011 Silverado. Extended cab, twd. 5.3 engine, six speed tranny. Flex fuel management. Texas edition.

The truck drives fine, has power, I have not had any problems, I get from about 14.6 to 20 mpg (once) It gets on avg about 16.

I now have 9000 miles on it and the change oil light just came on. Will get oil changed next week.

I would say if you want great fuel milage, get a smaller rig.

The truck is somewhat hard to get into, and I am 6'2".

I hope this helps you with your decision.

Good luck to you,

Thank you for your reply, I am not so worried about gas because despite just selling he Accord I haven't driven it since last October when I picked up a '99 Expedition as a work truck and that gets about 10 mpg. I drive the Expy everyday, as I said, the Honda wasn't for me.
I am more concerned with the vibration issues as evident in the thread I linked

My truck runs smooth with no vibrations.

Maybe some of the Z71 drivers will comment. With their 4 wheel arrangements and
two or more driveshafts.

I owned a 2011 Silverado and traded it for a 2011 Toyota Prius. The Prius averaged 50 mpg and ran like a Swiss watch but I just couldn't adjust to such a small vehicle. I traded the Prius for my current 2012 Silverado and haven't regretted the decision to move back to a full size pickup.

I've followed the "...rough ride..." thread and I feel the pain of the op. However, my experience with both the 2011 & 2012 models couldn't be more satisfying. Both vehicles performed as advertised. I just had the first service completed on the 2012 and my dealership did the full synthetic LOF, tire rotation & multi point inspection in 45 minutes.

I'm completely satisfied with my Chevy product and my dealership and I respond that way whenever I'm asked.
