level it
Hey brothers, how are ya's.got a new silverado here and i can say i dont like the front end down thing to much.I went to my performance dealer to look into a 2" leveling kit.He says that i will also have to buy a programer also to recalibrate for the slightly new larger tire i want to go with, 285/70/17.I got 265's on her now.He said the anti lock braking system will not function properly with the combined leveling kit and bigger tire..????.Is this guy for real or is he trying to get more money out of me?This whole chev thing is kind of new,so i figured i would ask you guys out there for some help.thanks and happy motoring.
alright, if you want your speedometer and odometer to read correctly
then you can get it programmed for the larger tires
as far as abs
i really doubt larger tires will interfere with it
and the leveling kit definitely will not interfere

Well, I put my 18 inch rims on and there has been no problem with the ABS. I have a 3% error in the speedo, which is only a few mph at 60 or 65, so it is no big deal to me. Also, I put the 2" level kit on the front of my crew cab because I did not like the nose dive look either. No codes, no problems with the ABS there either. What I did notice is that my truck sits much higher on the 18's than it did on the 16 inch bullet hole steelies and now the front is close to level with the rear. I will try to post some pics when I can so you can see the differences. They are factory 18 inch alloy with stock size Bridgestone Dueler A/T's - without looking I want to say 265/65/18 which is a 31" tire give or take. I got my 2" level kit off ebay for $75 and a local mech put it on for $50. It is just some aluminum plates that are cut to fit under the shock mount on the A-arm. Simple to install and they work great. I have put several thousand miles on the truck and no problems at all. Again, I will post pics when I can.
I have a 89 C2500 and it seems the front end is at least 3" lower than the back. What leveling device did you guys use? Also, is this something I can do my self. My mechanic said I needed larger springs, but I just don't agree.
Thanks
Thanks
I have an 07 Silverado new body style with 22" rims and dont have a problem with anything. That guy is just trying to make extra money off of you. Tell him to keep to his race cars and you keep to your chevy. Im putting a ground force 2" lowering shackle in the rear to level it out.
