Default looking to change rear end gears , help please

Hey guys and Girls , New to the forum and Just got a new 2011 gmc sierra w/t 4x4 with 5.3 with a 6 spd automatic with 3:42 gears , I was wanting to know if i could put in 4:10- 4:11 gears and run somewhat decent rpm at 65mph ??? right now i can go about 80mph @ 2000 rpms , But i was also was curious if i have do do anything else with computer or traction control etc when i go to change gears so it runs right with no computer errors popping up ? I would love to see it run about 1,900 to 2,100 rpms with the stock tires i have on it @60mph , "to be able to get into that so called sweet spot the motor loves" plus i have heard guys change there gears to 3:73 and or 4:11 and get better milage because the motors aren't "lugging" don't get me wrong , it does run great like a rocket , but just wanna stop the shifting at the slight grades i get in the hills here in Pa and it seems to lug around 1500 rpm's when doing 55 , plus the lil performance from installing like a 4;10 gear will make it zip around even more around town ....all help greatly appreciated , thank you in advance ;-)

You could go to a 4:10, but I think I'd only go that low if you upgraded tire sizes to like a 33"...once you change the gears you'll have to have a custom tune to make everything right(shift points, gauges, and what not). With 33s and 4:10s and that 6 speed you should be right where you want to be. Most people put 4:10s and 35s with these new 6 speeds so I'd think 33s would be what you want. Google a rpm calculator and input your specs

Yes, you could install 410 gears. Be sure your PCM is reprogrammed

for the proper gear ratio if you do.

But I found my engine screamed along at 3000 RPM, at 60+ with 410s,

so I installed 342s...
