whats up im new to the fourm, ive been a long time dodge boy. sold th dodge now im a chevy man. but i got a chevy with a v6 5 speed im lookin to put a 5.3 in or a 6.0 how much work are we talking here??

 

a junkyard 5.3 or 6.0 would run you around 500-600 bucks around here...and then you'll have to get it reprogrammed so another 250-300 for that...keepin the manual i would think?

then it should be a fairly simple swap...I wouldn't know if it matters if you pull a motor from an automatic...I think it's all the same but I can't be too sure

 

A V6 to V8 swap is a lot more complicated than say a 4.8 to 6.0 swap. I do not know specifics as I swapped my 4.8, but you're gonna need not only the long block but all the wiring and probably some other material. If you go to a junkyard try to get the PCM and everything else.
