I'm about to purchase a set of new/used leaf springs. I've changed shocks, bushings, and greased everything in the rear and yet there is still an annoying loud "squeek". It only goes away if the leaf springs get wet but once they're dry it's back to squeeking. So my question is, Can I possibly fit leaf springs from a 2500 or heavier onto my 1500 since I pull my trailer quite a bit? (2001 Ext. Cab short bed)

 

the 2500 springs should go right in there no problem !we used to do it all the time at the spring shop i worked at all the time .

 

I bought a set (not sure if they are from a 1500 or 2500 put there is 1 extra leaf in the pack) and they went right in, sqeek is GONE !!! finally. I love my truck again. The whole truck was sitting at an angle but is now straight and stiffer. In case anyone else might have this problem I hope you read this post to make your headaches go away.

At the 4WD store you can get new rubber pads

for the ends of the springs which will help cut

down squeaking noises.
