I bought a used 2008 Silverado 1500 last week and yesterday the engine warning light came on. Took it to autozone and had it checked out. Got codes p1174 (cylinder balance), p0303 (misfire cylinder 3) and p0705 (transmission range switch fault).

I've done some research and p0705 is related to the transmission range sensor; I recently changed out a transmission range sensor in a suzuki so I'm hoping the job won't be so big in the 1500.

I think the p0303 is related to the p1174, I'm guessing that it's the fuel injector blocked relating to cylinder 3 which is causing a misfire.

So how difficult is changing out a fuel injector in this truck? And which part would I need? (Where to buy it and the part number would be great)

Also, I need to tow with it next weekend, will I be able to with these issues present? I'm not going far and live in a fairly flat area.

Changing ANYTHING in a 2008 is challenging. Everything in this year model is like upside down compared to the other years. It’s been frustrating getting the parts changed out in mine but I love my 2008 and she runs like a beast when she’s got fresh new parts installed lol ROCKAUTO.com is a legit go to for parts with seriously good prices. The site is easy to maneuver thru and you should be able to get your part number no problem if you haven’t taken care of it already
