I purchased a 2001 chevy silverado 2500hd 4x4 back in 2008 and the transfercase just came out but when the chevy dealership runs my vin it's coming up as a 2wd truck! And it's clearly 4x4 and can tell it hasn't been rigged up!

 

does the door vin sticker and windshield vin plate match? the fifth character is the one of interest, k is 4wd, c is 2wd.


its not hard to swap in a 4wd drivetrain. if you need parts for your tcase, it will have a red build code tag screwed to the case. it will be a 3 character code probably starting with n
