Default question about ecm v6 vs v8 ecm

Hey guys

I have a important question about ecu-ecm
My engine is v6 4.3L 1992
I bought this engine without ecm now i wanna buy an ecu for this engine but i dont know i can use 8 cylinder 305 or 350 ecm on this engine or not i must buy 6 cylinder ecm only ?

Somebody can hlp me plz

Yes the ECM has to match the engine so it doesn’t try to fire non-existing cylinders! Unless you can find someone to reprogram it.

But that is tbi system not mpi system and has a distributer system
You know ? You crrect ?
I think ecu just wanna run the engine with 2 injector on throthle body and ecu not important im wrong or not ?

Maybe but the ecm expects the correct impulses on crankshaft sensor. Maybe 1992 doesn’t I don’t know. Try it and see.

These models hasnt crankshaft sensor and ecu work with spining the distributer shaft ....
Then with map info and tps info calculate fuel injecting
But i dont know this model has a oxygen sensor or not if has oxygen sensor with this sensor can optimize fuel usage ...

But i wanna use new seimense no immo ecu with trigear on crankshaft pulley and crankshaft sensor with this way i have his diag because is obd ii but chevrolet old ecu is obd 1 !
