I have this issue that I've never seen before. The cast iron mount part of the Rack and Pinion completely broke off in two separate areas. Even when I was doing a lot of off roading in my old truck, I saw a lot of R&P problems, but never the mount sheering like this. have any of you seen this before? It's an 08 silverado 1500 4.3L.

This was a result of a very minor brush with a curb. I'm 90% sure it's a result of a prior accident that the chevy dealership overlooked so I'm in negotiations to get them to fix it on their own expense, but I wanted to give you guys a heads up in case this mount is flawed from the factory and more silverado's are subject. Check for any cracks in the mount.
