Default Radio Questions

So my stock radio is having an issue with the front right door speaker. There is annoying static that come through only this speaker. It doesnt matter if you fade it full left and rear. the only way that it goes away is if I mute the radio or turn it off. This started in november and i'm just sick of it so I'm thinking about a new radio but I have a few questions:

1) Do some aftermarket radios work with the steering wheel controls?

2) Will the door chimes work on aftermarket radios?

I dont have onstar or xm. all I have is the standard am/fm/cd.

I had this trouble with my '07 Classic. Static and scratchy noise only from

right front door. Ended up replacing that speaker and all is good now.

Think speaker was about $35 at dealer. Hope this helps.
