Exclamation rear?

when i first bought my truck i had a friend who is a mechanic look over the truck with me, he siad the rear bearings were going bad, he said he could hear something when we took it out for a test drive, at the time i heard it to....that was a year ago (havnt had time or moeny to fix it)and now i dont even hear the noise, but that could be due to me constantly driving and becoming acustom to the noise. is there a way beside taking my truck to a shop to tell if the bearings are going bad? someone told me by jacking up the truck and checking to see how much play each wheel had? not sure hopefully someone can help me

Forget it,

What you heard was what we call "lot rot". It comes from inactivity and the brakes rusting up. The truck just needed to be used/driven.

If it had a bearing out of the rear end, you'd know it.
