Default Rear break noise

My rear brakes are making squealing noises especially around corners! I thought the warning tab was rubbing and took the tires off and looked and the shoes are not close to being worn enough for that tab to be rubbing. They look like close to being new, any ideas of what is making the noise?

Any unusual wear on the sides of the shoes? Do the brake shoes lay flat against the backing plate?

Not that i could see.. I have had the same noise on two different vehicles with rear disc and it was the warning tab both times. these shoes look close to new, which makes me think there may be some hardware issues

Hello white03,

Have you considered taking in your vehicle into your preferred dealer to have it diagnosed? If you would like me to contact them on your behalf, I would be happy to do so!

Do your axles have any end play or warmer than usual near the backing plate on the axle?

I can tell you from first hand experience, I had this problem for months and I tried everything and couldn't figure it out. I said screw it and bought new pads and made sure I put grease on backs of the pads and all the moving parts of the calipers. Cheap pads will make a squealing noise and I guess that is what mine was because I bought the half way decent pads and made sure I put the grease on all the right places and I haven't heard a peep out of them brakes since.
