Default rear end to high

hello chevy,i own a 09 silverado reg. cab, short bed and want to lower rear end, friends tell me a 2" drop shackle swap out in the rear should do fine.should have no affect on ride, what do you guys think, can it be done by myself and what brand would work best.

Welcome to the Chevy Forums.

Assuming, of course, you don't ever intend to haul much weight, that would work.

If you put on a trailer or load up the bed heavy with a lowering kit, expect the tires to rub.

gotstylez may have a more practical answer for you, if you're going to use the truck,(ahem,) as a truck.

You don't necisarily have to buy a leveling kit. you can just tighten the torsion bars which will raise the front end. i did that to my z71 and it looks pretty good i think. just be sure to get an alignment.

you can do this but it will give u a stiffer ride...

from what i've read the 07 and up nbs chevy's don't have torsion bars...to raise the front you'd have to get the spacers for the shocks

07 NNBS and up do not have torsion bars. They have Coils or whatever they are called. Me personally i would drop the rear of it with some lowering shackles or something
