Default Rear Wheel Play

Last week I had my rear rear rotors turned and installed new pads on my 2001 Silverado 1500 LS 2WD Ext Cab. When I re-installed the wheels I notice that they both had a little in/out play in them. The LS had minimal but the RS had at least an eighth inch or more. Has anyone experienced this? Is this normal for this vehicle or is there something wrong? This truck also has the tow package with the locker rear end if that makes any difference.

it comes with wear, u dont have much to worry about though. the rear inner axles are held with c-clips, they are known to fall out on very high milage trucks, but u have disk brakes, so u dont have anything to worry about

Well thanks for the answer 2wd-K5, still doesn't seem right to me but it has probably been like this for a while since this is the first time since I bought the truck that I had done any maintenance on the rear. I wasn't sure if it was supposed to be tight with no play at all or a little play as set up from the factory.

What would cause the excessive play?

You will always have a little end play, it came new that way. Trucks a far from a swiss watch, I think you are just paying more attention then most people if you noticed it.
