???'s about a 1991 2500
I'm looking at buying a 1991 Chevrolet 2500 4x4. I haven't gotten out to look at it yet but I'm told it's rust free, had a new GM 350 dropped in in 2000 and has only been driven 50,000 miles since then. It's going for less then $2000 and it only needs a heater core.
My question is: The guy says it's a 3spd. manual. Said it in the ad and on the phone. I'm personally not aware of any 3spd manual offered by GM in 91. Am I wrong or is this guy mistaking a 4spd. for a 3 spd (don't know how he'd do that unless 4th is out). Says 1st is granny low. Any insight guys?

i think they call it 3 speed because 1st is so low..... i belive the chevys and fords had the same trans borg warners.... i had a ford hat had a low first... you can mabe go 10 mph? if that..its a very low gear i used to leave in 2nd gear because first was too low
I've owned a 4 spd with granny, but it was in a 79 F-150. Anyone have experience with the one in the early 90's models Chevrolet 3/4 tons? Reliable trannies? Is it ok cruising on the interstate or should I expect it to scream going 55 mph ? lol
Any input is appreciate.
