I start my tuck and the tow mode light is on. It stays on even after I pull the shift lever to drive. I have to put the shift lever back in park then drive again to get it off. That's right. Just shift twice and the light goes out and tow mode is off.

 

Can you not select it from the switch?

 

Can you deselect the tow mode with the switch on the end of the gearshift?

 

the switch does nothing. I have to go back to park one time for tow mode to go off. If I don't it stays in tow mode and I can't turn it off with the switch.

 

So, it starts in tow mode by itself?

 

the tow switch wiring is known to break in the steering column where it is secured with a plastic barb fitting. Trace the wire back from the switch. It has orange loom.
