Shifting problem

Have an 07 2500 2wd, pulled in to get gas put truck in park, Got back into truck and it wouldnt turn over. looked and noticed the shift indicator is stuck in reverse, the steering wheel wont lock and as long as the key is turned "on" i can freely move the shift lever. Has anyone else had this problem?
