Default silverado airbag issue?

2005 crew cab, 4x4, ls, 5.3, 70k, service airbag light on, has 0100 code for left impact sensor, this truck is basically only driven steady in the winter months, and probably only has 200 miles since feb-march. my question is if the sensor -wires-plug in have corrosion that are causing the light to come on, or is this a problem from the sensor itself. seems strange to get this light on from a truck that has never hit anything bigger than a bug.

has anyone ever successly cleaned the connections so that the light will stay off? wherre is the cheapest place to get a replacement sensor, planning to trade the truck off in a month or two.

thanks for your replies.

Just had that problem. I've never hit anything either. I just had it replaced. Part was around $115 from Chevy.

switch the left and right sensor. Clear the codes. start the vehicle. If the code resets and follows the sensor, the sensor is bad.
