Default slipping tranny rebuilt by chevy

I have a 2004 silverado 2500 hd That has 87,000 miles on it and i bought 5,000 mile ago from a private sale the previous owner had the tranny rebuilt by chevy at 69,000 miles and i have the receipts to prove. about 1000 miles ago the tranny stated slipping on the highway. the fluid level is good. will chevy honor there work and fix the trans? one of the reasons i bought the truck is cause it already had the trans rebuilt by chevy. i thought it would have been done right. the truck has not been pushed hard at all.
thanks
nate

They usually go 1 year/12K miles. Three years/36K on a replacement. With 18k on the tranny, they must have done something right.

Can you give a little more detail on the symptoms?

its not bad in the lower gears but on the highway it will go into high gear when i give it gas the rps will go up around 2500rpm then right around 50 mph it will come back down to where it should be. but then if i let off of the gas at anytime then go to excelerate again, the rpms go up then come back down. its not downshifting.

Okay,

First thing I'd do is pull the codes. If it is in fact slipping, the ECM is gonna see that and set and error code.

No.

What I usually do is clear all the codes to erase all the prior history, take the truck out for a spin and after the symptom shows up, then read the "fresh" codes.

The transmission is a reactionary device. That is to say, it does what it is told.

Example: A plugged exhaust/restricted fuel flow, restricted air, etc. will cause the shift strategy to be out of spec because it takes more pressure at the throttle to attain the road speed.

The ECM sees this and pulls the transmission down a gear to accomplish the task. Doesn't mean that the transmission is bad; it is just doing what it's instructed to do.

Perhaps your transmission is bad; we don't know. But, I'd make darned sure I definitely knew what was the actual culprit was before pulling the drawers open on my toolbox.

Thats probably why it was rebuilt the first time.
It was miss diagnosed.
Something else is causing this.

Most problems are caused by all the computers they put in these days.
Maybe a reflash of the main computer would help.
