does the starter for the 1994 4.3 L,fits only that engine,or is the same for a v8. thanks

good morning guys. got my replacement starter. comes with a shim, and a note regarding the shim. i am not clear if my truck uses the shim. there is NOT one on now. it is the 1994 w/t 4.3 vortec.......thanks. this should be an easy replacement job, RIGHT? (hopefully)

not sure if you will need the shim or not. you will have to look and see if it lines up. the job is not to bad just make sure to be easy with the wires and the conectors they go on. put them on tight but don't brake them off. and just remeber what wire goes where. you should be fine.
