Default Stock Spacers

I just removed the rear spacers from leaf springs. It dropped it about an in. in the rear and now the truck sits basically level. Is there any advantage to the spacers or are they mainly there too keep the rear end off the ground when I tow or have my truck loaded down? Thanks in advance

What spacer are you referring? What truck do you have?

You mean the block? It's just there do when you tow, your front end isn't sky high and it'll sit level when you tow somethin. Or if you were goin to lift it, they give you a bigger one to raise up the rear end

Was it wedge shaped? If so it provided the proper angle for the pinion to the driveshaft.

I have a 07 crew cab (new body) that the rear end sits up higher. I don't like it because it's my daily driver, not a work truck. I have been thinking about removing the spacers under the leaf springs. I am talking about the ones between the axle and the leaf spring, leaving the cradle for the leaf spring to sit down on the axle. I don't see how it would affect anything but the height of the body. Of coarse I may have to replace the U bolts if there is not enough treads to tighten it up. Can anyone give me any thoughts or let me know if this will affect the ride. THANKS tmyers
