Exclamation Surprising my husband with a chevy HELP!!!

Hi! My husband has been deployed overseas for 8 months now. He will be home at the end of March. I'm finishing a 98 chevy for him. So far...

ALL BODY WORK COMPLETE
PAINT SHOP AS WE SPEAK ( BLACK METELLIC)
REMOVED TRIM
NEW Z71 DECALS
STEREO, AMP AND SPEAKERS INSTALLED
REPLACED BACK SLIDER WITH SOLID WINDOW

HELP ME WITH...

DECIDING TINT PERCENTAGES?
IS CHROME DOOR HANDLES AND TAILGATE A GUY THING?
SHOULD I DO A CUSTOM LICENSE PLATE HOLDER? ANY IDEAS?

Please help me think of anything else he may like. I'm just the wife, and this truck is all for him! Let me know if you have any suggestions. I appreicate all your help.

Thank you!!!!!

first of all, welcoem to the forum!

DECIDING TINT PERCENTAGES? i like dark! but not too dark. youd have to look up on how low % you can go with your state allows..

IS CHROME DOOR HANDLES AND TAILGATE A GUY THING? i always liked these..but im too cheap to buy any.. it would deff. stand out on a black truck

SHOULD I DO A CUSTOM LICENSE <NOBR style="COLOR: darkgreen; FONT-SIZE: 100%; FONT-WEIGHT: normal" id=itxt_nobr_10_0>PLATE</NOBR> HOLDER? ANY IDEAS? dunno bout this one.

I'll leave the license plate frame thing up to him.

Hi chevywife,

Welcome to the Chevy Forums.

This is SO cool! I'm sure he'll enjoy the truck.

I'd just leave the license plate holders up to him, IMO. Chrome will look great against the black...

Tint I would say something around 15-20%

Chrome door handles: No I personally think they are ugly. Since it is already at the body shop why not just have them paint them to match the truck.

License plate: I dont know

I second that chrome door handles are ugly. But I'm not much of a chrome guy. guess it depends on the guy.

personally, total black out is awesome. maybe leave the bumpers and grille chrome. but paint the door handles black as well. had a 97 sierra all black, tinted windows, sharp truck. compliments all the time.

I agree! Cannot go wrong with all black! Black handles, tint, Maybe even buy these. Have them on my truck and very easy to install!

YES! Those are exactly the tail lights that I was wanting to buy! Do you think it matters what brand, and is there a reason I could get them at a big swap meet for $40? Which ones should I get?
