Synthetic ATF?

I have a 98 1500 5.7 with the 4L60E and I was wondering if it's worth it using synthetic trans fluid?

have you ever flushed the fluid that's been in there and changed the filter? how many miles are on it? if it's never been touched then I my self wouldn't touch it...especially with synthetic
