Default Trailer brake lights won't work on 2500HD

I have a 2002 2500 HD 6.0. Has factory tow package and wiring with 7 pin connector. When I hook up my utility trailer the turn signals and running lights work but no brake lights. All lights work on the truck and I've found no blown fuses in the dash or under hood fuse box. The only thing that doesn't work on the truck right now is the emergency flashers. Anybody have a solution? I can't be the only one with this problem. Thanks in advance for any help and suggestions.

Thanks,
Steve

hello,i would check the ground's on the trailer lights and then see if you are getting voltage at the brake light pin on the truck plug when you hit the brake Pedal .

I just ran across this thread and mine had the same problem. The trailer place I get my fifth wheel from fixed it by installing a converter box. I would like to know what was really wrong with the truck. As you must be smarter than the rest of us I'm asking nicely, please share as no one else must know either.

Default Solution!

I was having issues with my trailer brake lights not working, but turn signals and all other lights working. I scoured the internet to find a solution and stumbled on a thread with solution. They were having the same issue, and the problem ended up being the turn signal flasher, between the steering column and the fuse panel in the cab. Hope this solution helps save some time for people having this issue.

Default Solution confirmed

Thank you Noel. Roll Tide - what’s wrong with you?

I spent hours checking all my grounds and my trailer brake lights still didn’t work. A few months prior I switched to all LEDs in my truck and bought a cheaper LM487 turn signal Flasher relay off Amazon. After reading Amazon reviews and saw customers were have the same trailer brake light issues, I went to NAPA and bought the LM487 for 3 times the price and my lights are working fine. Who knew the trailer brake lights had anything to do with a signal flasher relay? I didn’t.
