Default Trans Slip or normal chevy

Hi , I'm Dan . Ive had my Silverado about 2 weeks now . Love the truck , but concerned if my trans is slipping from 2nd to 3rd? I've read similar threads , but figured I would make one with a video to see peoples input . Fluid is clean . Sometimes it may not do it depending on how you accelerate . Heres a video of it. My dad has been a gm guy all his life and has rebuilt many gm trans . He says almost every chevy hes driven does it and to not worry about it , but I have my doubts . Turn the volume up to hear it more clearly .

What year?

That does look peculiar.

The shift between 2 and 3 is a "timed" shift. That is to say, one component has to be released and another applied rather than with the other shifts which are "stacked" one upon another.

When you see this "flare", it is "almost always" due to a small momentary hydraulic leak.

So it is just normal operation? Would I benefit from the gm pcm update? I read its suppose to improve shift points and shifting in general .

No, it's not 'normal'. Are you talking a re-flash?

Yes, of course. That is always the first step to take and will "probably' cure your ills.
