Default Truck sounds

My truck started making a random grinding sound a few weeks ago. It sounds like teeth rubbing against each other. It is not a constant thing and I can go several days without the truck making the noise. Then I can go several cranks in a row with the sound. I am sure its the starter I just wanted to get an outside opinion before replacing it. I think its the starter grinding on the fly wheel. Any other ideas?

Thanks

Default noise

"And life could be so happy
Id grin from ear to ear
If the customer would just tell me
The model make and year"

Sound like starter "drive" but just guessing at this point

starter isnt lined with the flex plate right, replace the starter and make sure the flew plate doesnt have any big gouges out of it, i have a similar problem because i didnt shim my after market starter and it ended up eating teeth out of my flex plate and im actually rebuilding my tranny this weekend but i have to replace my flex plate too now
