tuned port conversion

latest developments
as I have stated in other posts the tuner did not provide me with some important info, and refuses to answer my direct questions, so I am floundering and thrashing around on this thing. I still cant get the idle to stabilize, kind of frustrating when trying to thread a trailer into a hole backwards. I "this is all assumption" believe that the ECU was programmed for 60psi vacuum referenced, and 19lb injectors???? 60psi vacuum reference = stock Vortec system, 19lb injectors ??? who knows??? so I have acquired an LT1 throttle body, (uses the same TPS and IAC as the Vortec) and has provisions for cruse control. I also have accuired a fuel rail and injectors off of an LT1 (24lb units, and 45psi vacuum referenced) should get me in the ball park of the programmed (????) settings. if this don't get it? the next possible step is a stock LS series 6.0?? or better. just about to my limit with this one. People keep telling me to get a program and dig into it. Well dang it!!! I paid a man over $500 so I would not have to go through the learning curve. Plus I have other things that I would rather spend my time and the more money on on, you see? I am just trying to keep from buying a newer truck, not build a race car. but I wanted it to be different as well

It is official the 327 is dead
last friday had the truck out in the pasture feeding the horses, when I noticed a problem, she had pegged the temp guage. I did not know the guage could go that far? the crazy thing is, it was 20 degrees out? anyway by the time I got it to water it was dieseling, and quit, managed to restart it and get it into the shop, but Saturday am she was locked up tight. I think it was the water pump, possably lost the impeller?? will preform an autopsy at a later time. For now I am concentrating on a vortec 6.0 install, gotta have a truck on a farm. side note: I did manage to get it free'd up and restarted, but it does have a noticable mis now, still on track for the 6.0

swiched gears again
today I bought an LT1 out of a 1996 Ram Air "Bird 60k clicks on the clock. went through the whole scenario LS vs LT, decided that 80% of the work I completed for the LT install, V's the LS which would be a complete redo of all systems. So, yes I wimped out for the easy way out, the truck has been down for 6 months now and I need to get her up and running now, ya see? so I will start a new thread for the LT install!
