Default Want to fix up an old truck.

I currently have a 2008 Silverado Z71 Crew Cab and have always been a chevy truck guy. I used to always have an older truck I would pickup and play with until someone wanted it more than I did and I would sell it.

Have not done that in some time but want to do it again and no longer in the car business so need some advice.

I want to get a SWB, Auto, Reg Cab 2wd truck thats got some room in the cab, but do not want extended cab. I am a big guy so the real old trucks were cramped.

What would be some good years to look at, want to build a 350 to go in it and would prefer carberated with as little emissions as I can get by with.

Can you suggest some year ranges to look for. I am not in a huge hurry, so have time to look around and dont mind traveling a little to pick one up.

I just know some years are better than others.

1977-1979 Scottsdale is something I d like to do. Actually, I like to do a late 60s Suburban or early 70s Dodge Pickup Crew cab.
