Default water in door

Hi every one, I have a 2012 silverado crew cab 4x4, after a heavy rain I opened my rear passenger door and discovered it was full of water. Once the door was open the water started to drain out the bottom of the door . I am talking half a gallon or so. the interior of the truck is dry . Has anyone experienced anything similar.
thx.

the water may be coming past the outer window sill trim; make sure its seated properly. there should be 2 or 3 small drain holes behind the lower weather strip...make sure they aren't clogged with debris.

I know this is an old post but I have a 07 that had the same exact problem had it happen to my driver side front and rear doors, I checked the seals and they seem fine, I pulled the plugs from the base of the doors to make sure the water would drain and left the plugs out. I hasn't happend since.

Angry Water in My Door ALSO

On my way to work this morning I kept hearing a splashing inside of the cab of my 2012 2500HD LTZ. It caught me off guard and I couldn't figure out where the noise was coming from. When I got home I opened up the rear passenger door and OMG, the door was HEAVIER than normal and I could hear there was water INSIDE OF THE FREAKING DOOR. When I removed the weather stripping at the bottom of the door, water rushed out and I'M guessing there was 2 GALLONS of water. I am terrified because the stereo speaker is down at the bottom of the door. Not to mention the possible rusting of metal parts and corrosion of electrical components. I can't see ANY POSSIBLE way water got inside. All of the seals are in excellent condition and nothing is out of place. I can NOT believe this the best GM can come up with!!!! I've suffered through ALLOT of defects with GM vehicles out of loyalty to this brand, but this is it!!! It's definitely time to look at a Ford or Ram.

do you think the door seal or drain design is any different in another brand. Have a look.

This is the first time I have personally seen something like this on ANY VEHICLE. The door fills up with water if it rains, sitting in the driveway, with the windows up, and the door closed!!! That's ridiculous on a vehicle that cost me over $45,000. I have been EXTREMELY loyal to GM, although some of the poor engineering has proven to be very costly at times on GM vehicles I've owned and this just another reminder. I come from a family of "GM LOYALIST", but even my relatives are starting to break rank and opt for different brands. Our Fleet vehicles at my job are F-150s and they are damn good trucks. I'm just saying, I'm no longer willing to just consider GM like I have been. I'm going and looking at some at F-250s and Ram2500s pretty quick. If I get a good deal on a trade.......................So long GM

Does anyone know why this isn't draining properly? I have the same problem and am very concerned about rust and my speakers.

Not sure I understand how they're clogged since they drain as soon as I pull the molding out.
