I have a 2006 Silverado 1500 WT Extended cab. I am thinking of putting a leveling kit on. If I use the factory rim which is 17 x 7.5. What are some of the bigger tires that will fit this rim? I like my rims and would keep them if they could fit some larger tires.

 

you could probably fit 305s at the max with potential rubbing. 285 should be comfortable and 295 should be cutting it close.

 

Another question would the 285s fit in the factory suspension or would they rub?

 

im pretty sure the 285s wouldnt rub. the 295s might.

 

285's are a pretty safe bet. That's what I have on my truck and I have plenty of room for more if I wanted. Though, my truck is a 2500 so it may sit a little higher (though I'm not sure). You could probably go on up to a 315 if you wanted, but they would cause some rubbing when turning tightly, especially over bumps. Potentially, of course.
