Default Stalling on low fuel

I drive a 2005 Aveo LS, The engine keeps trying to stall whenever I got low on fuel (1/8th to 1/10th of a tank) when I accelerate from a complete stop.

I will get a split second where everything seems normal, then I will lose power and the engine will shake for half a second and pick up again, it first started happening 70~ miles ago but only did it twice and the car ran fine for 50-60 miles afterwards, but on the way home from work it happened almost everytime I accelerated from a complete stop.

the thing in your gas tank probably broke off... idk what it is called but there is something in there to keep your gas from "swooshing" back and forth when you stop or accelerate. i have had my truck sputter a few times from accelerating or stopping too fast.that is if the gas is low.. i'v ran my truck til it quit and had to restart it going 30 down the road lol

driving a lot with that low of fuel, your sucking air due to the pickup is no longer submerged in fuel. also i would not expect your fuel pump to last much longer. being submerged in gas is what keeps the pump from over heating. i would never drive any one of my vehicles below 1/4 tank except to go get fuel..

It doesn't fluctuate at all actually, gas level stays the same. I usually keep it above a quarter tank anyways since I have to drive quite a bit to get to and from work.

Don't go by the gauge as a definitely tank level. It is not moving at all seeing the gauge is showing pretty well dead empty.

Never allow you tank to go below a 1/4 seeing the fuel acts as a fuel pump coolant and keep condensation out of the fuel system.

It costs the same to fuel you tank once full then to stop four times to put a 1/4 tank in it.
