Default 01 Tahoe won't start

Hello, we have a 01 Tahoe 5.3lt, stalled while idling. checked fuses and fuel pump, has gas but gauge does not register it anymore.
turns over fine but not starting , has fire though
Tried code reader on it and no connectivity, tested reader on other vehicles and it works fine.
Any suggestions would be much appreciated.

Welcome to the forum.

Have you checked fuel pressure? How did you verify spark?

If the scanner doesn't work on it, then might be a wiring issue or ECM.

I know that some vehicles have a fuse that controls the port for the scanner. Might try checking the inside fuses just in case. I'm not sure exactly what the fuse is called.

I had grounds on the back of the cluster that went bad that cause el pimptastico to intermittantly die and the guages to go out of whack... I'd look into that, provided it isn't the ecm... you not being able to pull anything with the scanner makes me lean towards it.
