Default 2009 Taho door lock

I just had my Tahoe in for service 2 weeks ago to have the radio replaced because the display went out. Now, the left rear door lock has quit working. Either from the remote or the interior door lock button, I can hear the door relay engaging but the door lock itself does not lock or unlock. I can see the lock move slightly but it does not lock or unlock. Has this happened to anyone reading this? Could something on the lock mechanism in the door just be loose? I may try to take the panel off tomorrow and see what is going on. Any advice on how to remove the inner door panel?

Thanks

Haven't done one on the NBS but usually there are a few visible screws in the arm rest area and the rest are the plastic push-in retainers that you can pry out w/ the special tool or use a putty knife and pry bar. Start on a lower corner.

I do not know much about the issue with the door locks, but a good place to start would be HERE

It is a video that demonstrates the door panel removal on a 2007-2011 Avalanche. The process for the Tahoe should be very similar. The video demonstrates the removal on the driver’s side door, but the process for the rest of the doors should be just about the same. Good luck!!

Good video. Noticed that after he showed how to remove the lock button, the next scene showed it back in place. He needs to have a cameraman.
