I just bought an 04 suburban, the gear shifter has alot of play in it. Almost where you could slide it out of gear fairly easy. It has the tow button that lights up on the dash so I'm assuming it works. How difficult would it be to fix something like this or is this something to take to the dealership. If I could do this, does anyone know what parts I might need?

 

It may be best for you to take your truck to a repair shop and have them diagnosis the problem. The problem you describe could be related to a number of failures.
