Default '05 Tahoe Nav touchscreen misaligned

The touchscreen display on my 2005 Tahoe Nav system is off by a little bit. For example I try to hit clock and need to hit over and up about an inch. Is there anyway to reset this. Not sure if there is a way to do it like on a PDA or if it's something a dealer needs to do....or if the unit needs to be replaced. Any info on this would be greatly appreciated. Thanks all for taking the time to read this.

I don't have the nav system but all touch screens I have ever used (mostly at work)all have a "calibration" function.

I've never heard of this problem before. Try to pull the fuse and put it back it...otherwise it sounds like a bad touch screen

My Palm PDA did this due to all the times it's been dropped. It's so bad the cal function won't even fix it.

Looking through the book, I couldn't find a calibration function. Going to try pulling the fuse in the morning and see if that works. Called numerous dealers in the area and all they suggested was a software update for $78 plus tax that may or not fix it. Most touchscreen items I've come across there is a way to reset it...so we shall see. Thank you all again for the input and have a great day.

I'd be willing to bet the software there pushing is only for the mapping system and not a OS upgrade for the nav system. but I could be wrong, I would inquire more about the "software upgrade" and what it involves .

Well, went to the dealer and they took a look at it free of charge before attempting to update. They said the screen is shot and didn't recommend getting a new one because it's very expensive..$1400 or so. Tried looking around for an aftermarket replacement. Anyone know any sites that may have a compatible replacement for a 2005 Tahoe Nav System? I may just buy a seperate GPS unit and go with that....but still searching for an indash one that will fit. Thanks again for all the tips. Maybe one of the kids got mad at it and whacked it or something...lol Never know with those two rambunctious little rug rats.

Welcome to the Tahoe forum. You might try a local salvage yard for one.

Did the dealer actually try the calibration screen?

In NAV map mode, press and release NAV RPT, then press and hold CONFIG until the NAVIGATION CHECK menu pops up (about 12-15 seconds).

Hit the calibration button and follow the directions.
