Default RE: 07 Muffler questions

Anyone have any prices on what a muffler shop would charge for resonator removal and tip install.

I was looking at doing a new full exhaust, but decided to take hte cheaper route like GMz71 and just do a muffler and resonator. But i'd like to start with just the resonator for now.

Thanks

if you are trying to save money i would suggest you do the muffler and resonator/ exhaust tip work all at one time. Count on a $35 to $40 chargeanytime the vehicle is lifted and the torch is lit. I spent $210 for a new magnaflow muffler install, including removing the resonator and installing a magnaflowtip. Iam sure i overpaid, but i think the price was ok. my 2cents.

I spent $65 maybe a little less than that on my resonator removal and tip....only about thirty for removing the resonator...i think the tip actually cost more than the job...and I just went and got a price for the magnaflow muffler $125 with install...so really im only about $200 max for everything

I havent gone yet, I just went to a local muffler shop for the price....I think im going tommorow...i think it was either the 4x9 oval, or the 5x8 oval...the guy at the shop had it on his 2500 silverado (v-8, not diesel)...sounded nice

Just put in the Magnaflow muffler yesterday...it sounds great! It was just what I was looking for, its noticable but not annoying and settles down nicely when cruising. i think i got the 5x8, but not sure on lenght...overall it was what i was looking for, it was worth every penny to go with the resonator removal, and new muffler route. I would recomend for anyone who wants a decently priced exhaust kit.
