Default 07 suburban can't get rear lcd screen to turn on? any ideas?

i have an 07 suburban, got 3 different remotes to try, 2 factory, 1 universal (tried all toshiba codes). i can't get the rear monitors to turn on with a remote control, i have to take the dvd out and put it back in to turn on rear monitor. red lights turn on, like the ir works (ir headphones work), so i can't figure out why it doesn't turn on.

Welcome to the forum.

Other than checking batteries in the remotes, I can't add anything. I assume it's a factory installed unit.

Same problem here-- hope somebody gets us a solution. Drives kids (therefore me and wife) crazy-- If you stop and shut car off, when you start back up no rear screen. DVD must be removed and reinserted, which of course means finding your spot in the movie again...pain.

If you turn the truck off and back on, you should be able to turn the rear DVD screen on w/ the remote and pickup where you left off. You also have play/pause controls on the head unit screen.

Depending on the mileages of both your vehicles you should be able to take them to your local dealership under your 3 year 36,000 mile bumper to bumper warranties and have this fix covered, under normal circumstances. If you are not then you can speak with me and I will do what I can for you to get the vehicle fixed for you. I hope that helps you.
