Driver information center display has quit. There might be a hint of glow (barely visible) in the PRD321 area. Had local shop (not dealer) look at it and said LCD display needed replacing-- would be more than $800 by the time chevy programmed it. He said that he was able to make it come on but only to cut out again- you can actually slap the dash above and occasionally it will display but only for a short time.
Am I screwed?

Check this link out. They maybe able to help you. I have sent out a few Lexus clusters and A BMW cluster before, it saves alot of money. I have never used this company though, there are probably many others out there.

Welcome to the forum.
If the display is mounted on a PWB and slapping the dash causes it to work, then could be a cracked solder joint or broken circuit path. A lot of the expense is probably the labor in removing it.

I second that notion... if you can slap it and make it work, its probably a poor connection..might be worth just pulling and re-seating the IP cluster connections...
