Just ordered my invisicord, but wondering when looking at the mirror 4th on the left??? Looking at it from behind or front(mirror side). Anyone have pics of this installed?

So has anyone with the '07 compass mirror got this done yet? I'd love to see pics 'cause I want to do mine but I'm an idiot when it comes to wiring things.

The older radar detectors (X-band, I'm not sure about the new technology, may be the same) had a crystal set that was the same freq. as the radar the unit was looking for... it was simply comparing what frequencies the detector was receiving with what it was generating internally...
When the frequencies were the same, it gave you an alert. Simple idea, right?

The problem was, that the shielding around the detector leaked, so other detectors would "see" them... the most notorious was the original Radio Shack X-band detector, it was huge by today's standards, and leaked signals so bad that they could actually be picked up at a greater distance than the real police radar!

P.S. I'm sure someone here can tell me what the offending chipset was!

I just unstalled one (invisicord) in my 07 silverado. I was a bit nervous too but worked like a champ. The instructions said ground top left and power 3rd on right... it was actually the 4th on right pink wire I believe. I purchase a cheap multi meter and set it on DC 20 and it allowed me to test the amps as it registered at 14 and some change when I started the vehicle. I then pluged in the wires as stated (look on the invicord web site for pics).

I also wired the inviscord to the "smartcord" so I could have a mute button. I ran the mute button back down the pillar moulding and under the dash on top of my stering just next to the ingnition. Enjoy!
