Good luck doo. I dont blame you for not wanting to get involved with that kind of project especially if its cold out.
Well I do have the heated apparatus bay at my disposal.

sounds like warped rotors. If they have enough metal left, you can have them turned. Have a mechanic shop check the rotors to see if they can be turned.
Otherwise, you will have to buy new ones. They are not terribly expensive.

Also check to make sure that the slide pins (bolts that hold the caliper to the spindle)are clean and lubed up. The caliper needs to be able to move slightly in and out.

I have a 07 LTZ Burban, I replaced the front pads and rotors and yet the squealing is still happening. Has anyone found a fix for this problem? The dealer says everything is fine...and basically, thats just how it is. Its soooo embarrassing to pull up to a light in this nice, big beautiful truck and hear this loud *** squeal......Like i'm rogering a pig or something, lol. Any help is appreciated.

I had the same issue with my 07 Tahoe. The dealer said they arent normally covered after 10,000 miles but since they saw a tsb he replaced them. According to the service writer the new ones are a different pads from the one it came with. Been 2 weeks and no squeaks .

This PI was superseded to update Recommendation/Instructions. Please discard PIT4213.
The following diagnosis might be helpful if the vehicle exhibits the symptom(s) described in this PI.
Condition/Concern:

Some owners may comment of a front brake squeal noise during brake apply after a cold soak. Some brake noise may be normal and for more information please review bulletin 00-05-22-002I.
Recommendation/Instructions:

If the front brake squeal is found to be abnormal, updated pads with a new chamfer and re-designed insulator have been released to correct this concern. Replace the front brake pads with part number 25852957.

wow, thanks for all the help, it is much appreciated! However, I am just totally outdone with this issue, its been happening since i first got the truck, which was well over a year ago. Back then the dealer said it was normal. I happened to notice that the rotors were warped, so i changed them on my own, rotors pad and all, front and back. Just to see if it was only the factory pads. It wasn't!!!!!!!! I went with a complete after market brake set up. and yet the problem exists.......and this is all the dealer can come up with or better yet...........GM as a company. I'm not as mad as I seem, cause I love my truck. Its wonderful. I just want the squealing brakes to go away. Thanks all for your input and if any advances happen i will keep you all informed and hope you do the same. Bless all!
