Tahoe & Suburban The power, space, and brutal towing ability make the Tahoe and its longer sibling, the Suburban, arguably the best full size SUV's on the market today.

Default 07 Tahoe Check Engine Light

Hello All,

I recently had the check engine light come up on my 07 Tahoe. After taking it to the Chevy dealership the service guy told me its the throttle body. Basically I need to pay about $200 plus to have the throttle body cleaned out. They call it a carbon flush. Has anyone experienced this problem before? I have about 55K miles on my Tahoe. And also sad to say its not covered by GMs warranty.

Let me hear your thoughts.

What were the codes? I would suspect they are doing a motorvac (fuel injection service) which includes cleaning the t-body?

Default warrenty

I'm fairly sure you have a 5 year 60,000 warrenty on that... i'd bitch up and down or call GM directly...

I don't want my tahoe to fail at 55,000.... my last one lasted 285,000 and this new one damn well better!

The 5/100 Powertrain warranty probably won't cover anything in the fuel system.

The powertrain warranty covers the engine, trans, transfer case and differentials and that is about it.
