07 Tahoe LTZ Tail light removal?

07 Tahoe LTZ Tail light removal?
Hello everyone. I have 07 LTZ and I'm trying to remove the Tail lights but they have the led circuit board built into the light housing. Is there a way to remove the assembly or do they simply just not come off the truck? From what I'm seeing, the only way to completely remove them from the truck, I would have to cut wires.

Welcome to the forum.
First slip a towel/rag under the bottom of the tail lite to protect bumper. Then under the body you'll see a wiring harness from the tail lite that plugs into another wiring harness. Disconnect this and it will come out w/ the tail lite. Next remove the two screws. Now for the hard part. You have to pull straight back and there's really nothing to grip on the outside. So what I did was use a plastic putty knife (you could use a metal one if you wrap w/ tape to prevent scratching the paint) between the leading vertical edge and the body and gently pry while pulling. It will not be easy if it's never been removed before.
Not sure what you are referring to re: LED ckt bd. A picture would help.

Thanks for the reply. I'll post a picture tomorrow when I have some light to take a picture. But when I twist the light bulb plug from the tail light it has two wires going into a circuit board inside the light that has around 15 led's on it. It's the same for the bottom portion of the tail light. Only the backup light has an actual bulb that comes out.
I attached a picture I took earlier. It's not that great but you can kind of see the circuit board inside the light. I didn't look under the body for an additional connector so I'll do that in the morning.

It sounds like someone has replaced the bulbs with LED bulbs.
Now that I'm on my laptop and can actually see the pic, I'd say you have faux Esky tail lites like Eagle Eyes. But the inside of the housing looks like stock.
Need a pic of the outside, the entire backside, and the wiring harness.

OK, what you have is a set of aftermarket LED tail lites. Not Eagle Eyes but similar. The little module is the load that enables the BCM to not know that it's running LEDs instead of incandescent bulbs.
What are you trying to do?

Gotcha, thanks for the info. I'm tinting them, should be done in another 2-3 hours. I'll post pics when I get done. Loving the site, tons of good information here. Glad to see members actually respond and help other members.
